1971年勉学のためアメリカへ。その６年後ベネズエラに移り３８年住んでいたが、永年続く国情悪化で命の危険を感じ2016年に帰国した。初めて参加した同窓会で顔も名前も忘れていた昔仲間に再会。ベネズエラの事情を知った友人達がスクラムを組み支援してくれ、コロナ禍前,.東京や大阪で個展4回も開くことが出来た。

1971, I went to study to the United States, and six years later moved to Venezuela, where have lived for 38 years, but returned to Japan in 2016, fearing for my life due to the long-standing deterioration of the country's situation. At the school reunion I attended for the first time, I reunited with old friends whose faces and names I had forgotten. Friends who knew about the situation in Venezuela formed a scrum and supported me, and I was able to do four solo exhibitions in Tokyo and Osaka  before the coronavirus pandemic.

En 1971 fui a a Estados Unidos y seis años después a Venezuela, donde vivi durante 38 años, pero regresó a Japón en 2016, temiendo por mi vida debido al prolongado deterioro de la situación del país. En la reunión colegial que asistí por primera vez, me reuní con viejos amigos cuyos rostros y nombres había olvidado. Amigos que conocían la situación en Venezuela formaron un grupo y me apoyaron, y pude realizar 4 exposiciones individuales en Tokio y Osaka antes de la pandemia de coronavirus.

出会った特別な人々 ・ 彼等から色々学び、人生を豊富にしてくれた。それだけでもベネズエラへ行った価値があった。  Very Special persons I met in Venezuela who taught me a lots and enriched my life..

That alone made it worth living there.

三人の母/　 I have  three mothers  /　 Tengo tres madres

*　小谷郁代 / Ikuyo Kodani  (1926-1981)

楽しく、少しおっちょこちょいだった母。物の無い戦時中に少女期を過ごした母は、結婚後自由になると羽仁もと子氏の””友の会”に入り精力的に活動し、好きなピアノや生け花を習い,和紙人形を教え、フランスや中国で得意な盆石の展示会をしたりした。1980年暮、孫に会いたさベネズエラに来た翌年５月３日、家族でコロニアル・トバールへ遊びに行った帰り道、我々の車は海帰りの飲酒運転の未成年者に追突され、母は運ばれた病院で私の名を呼びながら死亡。頭を切り意識を失った私は一週間後、母の死を知った。

My mother, who spent her  childhood during the war, felt finally sence of freedom and got married. with my father. shigeo kodani.         

 She joined Motoko Hani's ``Tomo no Kai'' and was very active.

She played piano and leant flower arranging, teaching Japanese paper dolls, and holding  exhibitiones of bonseki, her specialty, in France, China  etc.

 In late 1980, she traveled to Venezuela to see her grandchildren.

On May 3 of the following year, while returning from a visit to colonial Tovar with my family, our car was hit by an underage drunk driver, and my mother died at the hospital, calling my name. 

I cut my head and lost consciousness, and a week later I learned of my mother's death.

Mi madre, pasó su infancia durante la guerra, finalmente sintió la libertad y se casó. con mi padre shigeo Kdani.

Se unió a "Tomo no Kai" de Motoko Hani y estuvo muy activa.      Aprendió piano y arreglos florales, enseñó muñecas de papel japonesas y realizó exposiciones de bonseki, su especialidad, en Francia, China, etc.

 A finales de 1980 viajó a Venezuela para ver a sus nietos.       El 3 de mayo del año siguiente, mientras regresaba de una visita a la colonial Tovar con mi familia, nuestro auto fue atropellado por un conductor menor de edad ebrio y mi madre murió en el hospital, llamándome por mi nombre.       Me corté la cabeza y perdí el conocimiento, y una semana    después me enteré de la muerte de mi madre.

⁑　セニョーラ　アンパロ・ロペス・デ・カルボ/ Amparo Lopez de Calvo (1903- 2001)

スペイン、カタルーニャ生まれ。スペイン内戦時代、反フランコ体制のカルボ夫妻は南仏へ亡命。戦後アムネスティの援助でベネズエラへ移住。ゼロから再出発を強いられたが、フランコ政府に教員資格の再発行を求めるには自尊心が許さず、５０歳を過ぎてベネズエラ中央大学に再入学し資格を取得。その素晴らしい笑顔で人々を魅了し、７０歳近くまで美術教師として多くの優秀な生徒を育てた。1990年一月、大学教授の建築家・息子アレハンドロが仕事で乗った軍用機が、悪天候のためカラカス郊外に墜落。悲しみに打ち沈んだアンパロだったが、変わり果てた愛息の墓を訪れることはなかった。９７歳の彼女の最後の言葉は多くの同胞と家族に安全と自由を与えてくれた国への感謝、“ありがとう、ベネズエラ！”だった。

Duringborn in catalonia, spain the Spanish Civil War, the Calvo couple, anti-Franco, fled to the south of France. After the war, they moved to Venezuela with the help of Amnesty International. They were forced to start from scratch, but her pride did not allow her to ask the Franco government to reissue her teaching title, so she re-enrolled in the Central University of Venezuela and obtained her degree at the age of 50. She captivated people. with her wonderful smile and taught many talented students as an art teacher until she was almost 70 years old. In January 1990, the military plane in which her son Alejandro, an architect and university professor, was traveling, crashed on the outskirts of Caracas due to bad weather. Although Amparo was overcome with grief, she never visited her beloved son's grave. 

 97 years old, her last words were "Thank you Venezuela!", expressing gratitude to the country that has given security and freedom to so many of her compatriots and her family.

Durante la Guerra Civil Española, el matrimonio Calvo, antifranquista, huyó al sur de Francia. Después de la guerra, se trasladaron a Venezuela con la ayuda de Amnistía Internacional. Se vieron obligados a empezar de cero, pero su orgullo no le permitió pedir al gobierno de Franco que reeditara su título de profesora, por lo que se reinscribió en la Universidad Central de Venezuela y obtuvo su título a los 50 años. Cautivó a la gente  con su maravillosa sonrisa y enseñó a muchos estudiantes talentosos como profesora de arte hasta los casi 70 años. En enero de 1990, el avión militar en el que viajaba su hijo Alejandro, arquitecto y profesor universitario, se estrelló en las afueras de Caracas debido al mal tiempo. Aunque Amparo estaba abrumada por el dolor, nunca visitó la tumba de su amado hijo. A sus 97 años, sus últimas palabras fueron "¡Gracias Venezuela!", expresando agradecimiento al país que ha dado seguridad y libertad a tantos de sus compatriotas y a su familia.

いつも私のために祈ってくれた深い愛のベネズエラの母

不思議な力を持つ彼女は苦しんでいる人たちのために祈り助けたのを私はこの目で見ました。

２度の独裁政権を体験し人生の酸いも甘いも知り尽くした彼女は日毎悪化する国に絶望していた私を抱擁し

“全て去り行く”と慰めてくれた。

 My loving Venezuelan mother who always prayed for people.                                      Possessing mysterious powers, she prayed and helped the suffering people which I saw with my own eyes.

Having experienced two dictatorial regimes, she knew the sweet and the bitter, and when I was desperate for a country that was getting worse day by day, she hugged me and consoled me, telling me: "Everyone will pass."

Habiendo experimentado dos regímenes dictatoriales, ella conoció lo dulce y lo amargo, y cuando yo estaba desesperado por un país que empeoraba día a día, ella me abrazó y me consoló diciéndome: "Todos pasaran".
